The B-17G Bomber, Which Began Production In July 1943, Is The Most Produced Model In The "Flying Fortress" Family. The Most Prominent Feature Of The B-17G Is The Addition Of The "Bondix" Power Turret At The Lower Part Of The Nose, Which Houses Two 12.7mm Machine Guns. This Turret Is A Remnant Left By The Yb-4d. For Boeing Originally Planned To Introduce The Bondix Turret Model As The 135 Batch Of B-17, But Due To Significant Changes, It Was Given A New Model B-17G.
